Job Description 

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and results-oriented individual who will apply project management methodologies to advance Circle’s oncology programs from discovery to the clinic. This individual will coordinate small functional teams contributing to drug discovery and development programs for Circle’s internal pipeline and partnered programs and will provide operational guidance to drive programs to achieve milestones within agreed timeline, quality and budget parameters. The individual will work closely with senior management.

This position requires excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels both within and outside the company in order to establish credibility with professionals on the project teams. The individual will apply scientific rigor, foster a productive team environment, and encourage constructive interactions among team members and will resolve and negotiate issues with diplomacy and composure.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for defining project scope, timelines and deliverables in collaboration with research teams, external advisors and senior management, and designing and leading implementation of workplans for successful project completion
  • Accountable for planning, tracking and coordinating activities and resources within and between programs in collaboration with senior management. Serve as program lead where appropriate, depending on project status. Advise cross functional teams operating in drug design, chemistry synthesis and biology in order to manage deliverables
  • Prepare and maintain project plans and scenarios with current software tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint).
  • Organize and lead regular program team meetings.
  • Manage partnered program interactions with corporate partners, including coordination of preparing and negotiating project plans, status reports, data summaries and other collaboration materials
  • Support development of robust information reporting to ensure data quality and support decision making
  • Identify opportunities for optimization of working processes and practices
  • Proactively identify issues and develop solutions and best practices to meet goals

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science required, advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred with a minimum of 7 years of project management experience in drug discovery and development the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Project management certification preferred
  • Demonstrated track record in leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization within a drug discovery and development setting
  • Strong experience in facilitating project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making
  • Proven leadership skills, maturity and emotional intelligence. Ability to exercise judgment and exert influence on overall objectives and long-range goals
  • Demonstrated ability to handles multiple projects and priorities with exceptional organizational and time management skills (both project and self)
  • Excellent technical skills with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MS Project and/or Merlin, and with Mac/PC operating systems

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cellular/Molecular Biology Scientist with a strong background in the molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis and cancer maintenance/dependencies as it relates to the discovery of novel therapeutic interventions. This individual will lead molecular and cellular biology research from the bench and be responsible for training and management of laboratory personnel as an integral member of the discovery project team. They will also provide significant input on strategies to accomplish goals of drug discovery projects.

To be considered for this position, all applicants must have a proven record of success as demonstrated by their publication record in relevant peer reviewed journals. Additionally, they must have a comprehensive knowledge of mechanism of action of targeted therapeutics, immune-oncology modulators and chemotherapeutic drugs in oncology. Experience in establishing biochemical and cell-based assays to support pre-clinical and translational drug discovery efforts to sustain a robust and diverse pipeline is also required.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaboratively design and execute a variety of molecular and cell biology experiments
  • Develop and validate diverse cell-based mechanistic and functional assays to evaluate biological effects of drug candidates
  • Perform assays to quantitatively measure the on-target and off-target effect of drug candidates using diverse cellular and molecular biology techniques (e.g. quantitative western blotting and higher throughput quantitative technologies, analysis of signaling pathway outputs, FACS, cell cycle analysis, high-content microscopy, etc.)
  • Manage and mentor a small, growing team of scientists working across several projects
  • Coordinate with CROs and other external collaboration teams
  • Culture, maintain and qualify cell lines for assay use
  • Ensure that safe laboratory practices are utilized by all team members

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Cellular and/or Molecular biology
  • At least 2 years of laboratory experience in biotech/pharmaceutical company pre-clinical research or at least 3 years of post-doctoral research experience with a relevant original publication record
  • Experience with small molecule drug development is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, applying scientific methods to resolution of critical issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present internally and externally at scientific conferences
  • Team-oriented and work well in collaborative environments
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, Spotfire or equivalent analytical software and instrument specific software as required

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate with a strong background in conducting bioanalytical assays to support drug discovery projects involving in vitro and/or in vivo studies. This individual will be responsible for the execution of bioanalytical assays, sample analysis and reporting results as an integral member of the discovery project team.

To be considered for this position, all applicants must have experience in executing LC-MS/MS based bioanalytical assays for drug candidates. Additionally, they must have demonstrated the ability to perform in vitro DMPK studies such as microsomal stability assays, metabolite identification, PAMPA and cell-based permeability, as well as cell-based efflux assays. Experience working with biological samples, such as blood, plasma, tissue etc. for in vivo DMPK studies is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Method development and qualification for assessment of drug candidates using LC-MS/MS and common in vitro DMPK analytical methods.
  • Perform sample analysis according to established protocols for analytes of interest in different biological samples, e.g. blood, plasma, tissue etc.
  • Conduct biochemical and cell biology assays in support of drug development programs

Minimum Requirements

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Biotechnology with at least 3-5 years of experience in DMPK-bioanalytical work
  • Experience with complex biological sample preparation
  • Working knowledge of separation science and mass spectrometry
  • Experience using LC-MS/MS for quantitative analysis
  • Experience working with plasma and microsomal stability assays, PAMPA and cell-based permeability, as well as cell-based efflux assays.

The ideal applicant will have demonstrated expertise in current computational drug design and chemical information workflows, along with possessing a high level of creativity, knowledge of reaction mechanisms, and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze chemical information workflows
  • Collaboratively design, construct and evaluate targeted and general macrocycle virtual libraries for target engagement and cell permeability
  • Undertake macrocycle identification and optimization efforts, including structure-based design, QSAR, and target-based selection of building blocks that meet specific physico-chemical and biological activity criteria

  • Work closely with colleagues to plan efficient synthetic pathways

Minimum Requirements
